CASS COUNTY - PHOTO OF THE WEEK

This is not just another opportunity to promote our local golf courses. This one has a special meaning. The skydiver in this picture was part of a team who landed at Lakeridge golf course on Saturday during the 2nd annual (Corporal) Daegan Page Heroes Scramble honoring one of our local heroes. Daegan had strong connections to Cass County and the Omaha area. After high school joined the Marine Corps and served his country admirably. He was killed on August 26, 2021 while serving overseas in Afghanistan amid the American pullout and the final days of Operation Enduring Freedom. Twelve fellow Marines and 170 local nationals were killed by suicide bombers that day just outside the international airport in Kabul at what was known as the Abbey Gate. The golf scramble raised thousands of dollars again this year obo the Daegan Page Foundation which supports several youth programs throughout the metro area.
