| What qualifications are there for a person to vote in any election? |
- A qualified voter must be a United States citizen and be 18 or older on the day of the General Election (first Tuesday, after first Monday in November).
- A citizen of the United States.
- A resident of Cass County.
- Not convicted of a felony, unless your civil rights have been restored or it has been 2 years after the sentence is completed, including any probation term.
- Not declared mentally incompetent

| What should I do if I have moved since the last election? |
- You will need to update your voter registration to reflect your new/current address. Contact the election office to request a form or click here to download a voter registration form. The completed form with original signature must be sent to the Election Commissioner at
the address stated below.

| Does a person have to go to a voting place in order to cast a vote during any election? |
- No. Early Voting Ballots are available in the election office 35 days prior to the election by completing an Early Voting request form.
- Or simply send your request to the election office for an Early Voting Ballot. Provide the date of the election, your residence address, party affiliation, phone number, mailing address for your ballot, signature and date.

- The completed Early Voting request must be sent or faxed to the election office and must be received not earlier than 120 days prior to the election and not later than 4 p.m. on the Wednesday preceding the election.

| How can a person file as a delegate for their Party County Convention? |
- A letter will be send a letter right after the New Year to the party chairperson ’s asking them to certify the number of delegates that will represent each precinct at the post-primary convention. This must be returned to the election office by Feb 1, or I will set the number of delegates at 2 per precinct
- The delegate filing forms must be filed in my office by March 3 click here
- After March 3 a list of all the names filed will be sent to the party chairperson’s with a request that they certify the date, time and location for their party convention to me by May 1.
- Once received a Certificate of Election for Delegate to the Convention will be sent to the delegates, which includes the date, time and location information for the convention.
