DUST CONTROL:

(NOTICE USED MOTOR OIL IS NOT AN APPROVE MATERIAL)

The Department of Roads will pay half the cost of dust control chemical application under the following conditions:

A County project is creating additional traffic that is equal to or greater than twice the normal traffic for the road in question and said traffic will be increased for a period of more than 7 days and meeting the following specifications.

  1. The affected landowner must request dust control and will pay for half the cost.
  2. The affected landowner’s residence is within 150 ft of the road incurring increased traffic due to construction.
  3. The county will determine chemical to be used.

Any additional request for dust control beyond the above listed condition is at the full cost of the landowner.

The applicant or contractor must coordinate application of material with the roads office at (402) 296-9353 at least five working days prior to application of the material to allow the county maintenance personnel adequate time to prepare the road.

After the material is applied the county will refrain from blading unless; it has become so rough as to constitute a hazard to the traveling public.

After October of each year the county regardless of actual conditions will re-grade the treated area in preparation for winter operations.
