| Richard has been Cass County Treasurer since August 1, 1983.
He has a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of
Nebraska-Lincoln with a major in accounting. He has a Teachers
Certificate and also a Masters Degree. Richard is married
to Ruth and they have two children, Kristine and Andrew. |

The Treasurer is an elected position. The term of office is
four years and the elections are held in non-presidential election
years. The treasurer must be a resident of Cass County. The
next election will be in the year 2002 for the four-year period
of January 2003 through January 2006.

The Treasurers Office registers 27,000 motor vehicles-20000
passenger cars, 7000 commercial vehicles, 2000 farm trucks,
5000 trailers, 300 motor cycles. 2000 Boats.

Hours are 8 am to 5 PM Monday through Friday.
Driver Examiners are in Cass County on Thursday and Friday
from 8:30 am to 4 PM. If you wish to talk with the examiner
call 296-9320 and we will transfer you to their office.
We are located on the second floor of the courthouse,
room 204 at the end of the hall.
