John A. Baroni is the Cass County Commissioner for the 1 st District. He was elected in November 2004 and serves through December 2008.

John is a 35 year resident of Cass County , born and raised in Pennsylvania and the son of a coal miner. He worked as a dairy farmhand until he enlisted in the US Air Force. He served 26 years and retired with an honorable discharge in 1988, making Plattsmouth , Nebraska home for him and his wife Janice. They have four children and three grandchildren.

John started his own business in 1971 and in 1984 opened Johns Appliance store providing sales and service to the community. His son Matt joined him in 1993.

John served 7 years on the Plattsmouth Planning Commission and 4 years on the Plattsmouth City Council providing the experience to help guide the county and shape its economic development.

As Commissioner he currently serves on the Local Emergency Planning Committee, City/County Advisory Committee, Cass County Economic Development Committee and County Veterans Service Committee.
